Frequently asked questions

Have a question about your situation? Send us an enquiry and we will talk it through.

No. Level 2 NVQs are work-based, so you are assessed on the work you already carry out rather than attending classroom study.

Evidence comes from your normal work. Depending on your pathway, it can include observation, photographs, job documentation, witness testimony where appropriate and professional discussion. We explain what is relevant to your pathway when you register.

Yes. The NVQ is designed to be completed alongside your normal work, because the evidence comes from the work you carry out.

The right pathway is the one that matches the work you actually do. Tell us your trade and the tasks you carry out day to day and we will help you identify a suitable pathway.

Some Level 2 construction NVQs may form part of the qualification requirement for a relevant CSCS or partner-scheme card. Eligibility depends on the exact occupation and card type, so check the current scheme requirements before applying. Completing an NVQ does not automatically entitle you to a card.
